Stretchable printed circuits are one of the more fascinating frontiers in flexible electronics. Unlike a standard rigid PCB — where copper traces are etched onto fiberglass and will crack the moment you bend them too far — stretchable circuits use conductive inks (often silver-based) printed onto elastomeric substrates like TPU or silicone. The trace geometry is usually a serpentine or horseshoe pattern so that when the substrate stretches, the conductor unwinds rather than pulling apart.
Applications are the reason this technology matters: wearable biosensors that conform to skin, soft robotics, medical patches that monitor ECG or hydration, and stretchable displays. Getting a working demo on video is useful because it lets you see the actual deformation limits — how far it stretches, whether it recovers, and whether the circuit stays continuous under strain.
The video appears to be a short manufacturer demo rather than a deep tutorial, so temper expectations: you'll see the material in action but won't get a full teardown of ink chemistry or trace design. Still, seeing a stretchable circuit flex in real time is a good primer before diving into papers on the topic.
